#1313: dodoc -r chokes on cyclic symlinks
-----------------------+--------------------------
    Reporter:  ant     |       Type:  defect

 sys-apps/s6-1.1.0::gentoo is the offender here:

 In {{{ examples/ }}} there's a large tree with one ".." symlink inside.
 The ebuild tries to dodoc -r on this, which ends up spawning around 800
 bash processes before I get bored and Ctrl+C it.

 I've tried fixing dodoc locally but every attempt broke something else
 (there's all kinds of other fun in that directory - broken links, a
 fifo...)

 The PMS doesn't say anything about handling symlinks in dodoc, or for that
 matter, whether these helper functions are expected to handle garbage from
 upstream.
