 I don't know, but I'm trying to find out. The problem is not specific with
 pyrex, though - there are many others in the same situation, such as
 setuptools. Here are some more data points: earlier versions of pyrex, and
 others such as setuptools, do not show the "python." problem but the build
 fails anyway:
